Ten Days in Vietnam

I haven’t updated recently- in part because it feels overwhelming to try and convey how wonderful my recent travels have been.

At the end of January I spent ten days traveling around Vietnam by way of planes, trains, automobiles, boats, and motorbikes. I explored seven cities and did my best to stop and smell the (delicious) coffee amidst my journeying.

I intend to go into more detail about each of myself stops, but for now, I’ll highlight some lasting memories:

Even on the tarmac, from the second I stepped off the plane, smelling the incense that filled the air – from city to city and street to street. Awaiting a train to rumble by at an excitingly close proximity to the cafe table at which I sat, I sipped on the best coconut coffee I’ll ever have. Unhelpfully sharing the burden of steering a small wooden boat being rowed with handcrafted oars of bamboo poles and repurposed oil barrel plastics.     Acknowledging that the array of colorful, buzzing motorbikes are a living, breathing, character in the story that is, Vietnam.

I created this video to start sharing just a snippet of the beauty, personality, and culture I experienced in Vietnam. The cities showcased are Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, and Ha Long Bay.

I look forward to delving into my trip in more detail and my experience as a solo female traveler in Southeast Asia.
